Today is the day we send Wendy on her journey to Halifax in Nova Scotia. Guy will drive her to Liverpool today (weds the 5th April) to be shipped via seabridge (shipping agent) on a roro ship. She needs to be apparently empty and super clean so guy will drive her up, give her a good clean (including underneath!) make sure everything’s well stowed and we’ve filmed the items on board and she will then be left and loaded and will ship out on the “Atlantic sail” on Sunday 9th assuming the ship is on time (mostly they aren’t at the mo!) Guy will stay a night in Liverpool and head back by train the next day. We’ve packed her with everything we need including 2 bikes, a set of spare service parts, all our clothes, cooking stuff and camping chairs and most importantly my red paddle board! This has been a bit of a battle between Guy and I but I have a dream of paddling on the Canadian lakes with Alex and I won’t let a little thing like a lack of space and impracticality kill the dream!! Given there will be 4 of us for 6 weeks we each have 1 shelf in a wardrobe, space for 3-4 pairs of shoes and a couple of coats each so we have to pack light! I’ve managed to squeeze mine into packing cubes and it fits (woo!) and have been agonising over what to take and not take. Practical outdoor gear has trumped my nicer outfits but I do have a couple of frocks and bling things in case we manage to party a bit!
Guy will do a bit of a video and update when he leaves Wendy behind in Liverpool so watch this space.
